Marc Cucurella

Marc Cucurella, born on 22 July 1998 in Alella, Catalonia, is a Spanish left-back and left wing-back. As of October 2026 he plays for Real Madrid, which he joined in 2026, and for the Spain national team. He started in futsal before passing through the youth teams of Espanyol and Barcelona.
France Football and L'Équipe list Cucurella as one of the 30 nominees for the 2026 Ballon d'Or, which honours the best men's player of the season. The shortlisting comes after he won both the European Championship and the World Cup with Spain.
After his senior debut with Barcelona's reserves, he played more than 100 La Liga games for Eibar and Getafe and then joined Brighton & Hove Albion in 2021. A year later he moved to Chelsea, where he won the Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Capped by Spain at every youth level from under-16 to under-23, he won Olympic silver with the under-23 side at the 2020 tournament. He made his senior debut in 2021 and was part of the teams that won UEFA Euro 2024 and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
