João Neves

João Neves, born on 27 September 2004 in Tavira, is a Portuguese midfielder. As of October 2026 he plays for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain and the Portugal national team. He is mainly a central midfielder but can also play as a defensive midfielder or right-back.
France Football and L'Équipe name him as one of the 30 nominees for the 2026 Ballon d'Or, the award for the season's best men's footballer.
A product of Benfica's youth system, he won the UEFA Youth League in 2021–22 and then helped the first team win the league title in his first season as a professional. PSG signed him in August 2024 for €60 million, and he played a prominent part as the club won its first Champions League titles in 2025 and 2026, the first as part of a continental treble.
Neves made his senior debut for Portugal in 2023, played at UEFA Euro 2024 and the 2026 FIFA World Cup and won the UEFA Nations League in 2025.
