Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland is a Norwegian professional footballer, born on 21 July 2000. He plays as a striker for Manchester City in the Premier League and for the Norway national team. Wikipedia describes a forward known for speed, strength, positioning and finishing inside the penalty area.
FourFourTwo ranked Haaland No. 2 in its list of the 100 best players of 2025, and he is on the shortlist of 30 for the 2026 Ballon d'Or. The IFFHS and Bleacher Report placed him fourth, The Guardian and Sports Illustrated (Español) sixth. Bleacher Report argued that there is "no better out-and-out finisher" in the game, while Sports Illustrated (Español) noted he again won the Premier League Golden Boot and scored more than 40 goals in the calendar year.
Haaland played for Bryne and Molde in Norway before winning the league and cup in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg, then lifted the DFB-Pokal with Borussia Dortmund in 2021. Since joining Manchester City in 2022 he has won the treble in his first season, two Premier League titles and three Golden Boots, and set records with 36 league goals and 52 goals in all competitions in a single season. He has been named PFA Players' Player of the Year, UEFA Men's Player of the Year and IFFHS World's Best Player. For Norway he has scored more than 60 goals and is the country's all-time top scorer.
