Julián Quiñones

Julián Quiñones, born on 24 March 1997 in Colombia, is a forward and winger who represents Mexico after becoming a naturalised citizen. As of October 2026 he plays for Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiah. He moved to Mexico at 17, when Tigres UANL recruited him for their under-20 team.
France Football and L'Équipe list him as one of the 30 nominees for the 2026 Ballon d'Or, the award for the best men's player of the season. The nomination came after he finished 2025–26 as the Saudi Pro League's top scorer with 33 goals.
Quiñones has won six Liga MX titles: two with Tigres, two with Atlas, ending that club's 70-year wait for a league title, and two with América. Al-Qadsiah signed him in 2024 for a reported US$16 million, and he scored 20 goals in his first season. He sealed the 2025–26 Golden Boot with a hat-trick on the final day and has a contract with the club until 2029.
After playing for Colombia's youth teams, he made his debut for Mexico in November 2023 and has won the 2025 Gold Cup and the 2024–25 CONCACAF Nations League. At the 2026 World Cup on home soil he scored the opening goal of the tournament against South Africa and finished with four goals, equalling the Mexican record held by Luis Hernández and Javier Hernández.
