Copenhagen (CPH)
Denmark

Copenhagen Airport (IATA: CPH), formally Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup, serves the Danish capital and the wider Øresund Region, including Malmö and southern Sweden. It sits on the island of Amager, 8 kilometres south of the city centre, and is linked to Malmö by the Øresund Bridge. It is the largest airport in the Nordic countries and the main hub of Scandinavian Airlines.
Condé Nast Traveller readers rank Copenhagen No. 4 among the world's airports in the Readers' Choice Awards 2026, with a score of 93.13. That is a clear rise from the 2025 edition, in which it placed No. 9 with 89.05.
Opened on 20 April 1925, Copenhagen was one of the first civil airports in the world; in its early days sheep kept the grass runways short. A new terminal built between 1936 and 1939 by the architect Vilhelm Lauritzen is considered a fine example of Nordic functionalism. The airport served close to 30 million passengers in 2024, handles around 60 scheduled airlines, and is the busiest in Scandinavia for international travel. Check-in takes place in Terminals 2 and 3, and trains and the metro leave from the station at Terminal 3.
