University Health Network

University Health Network (UHN), based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is a public network of research and teaching hospitals fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. It includes Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, West Park Healthcare Centre, the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and The Michener Institute, which awards diplomas and certificates in health sciences. It took its present form through a series of mergers, starting when Toronto Western and Toronto General merged into the Toronto Hospital in 1986.

Brand Finance ranks University Health Network No. 7 in its Global Top 250 Hospitals 2026, a ranking that measures brand strength. Wikipedia adds that Newsweek ranked UHN's Toronto General Hospital 2nd in the world in 2026 and first in Canada.

Wikipedia describes UHN as the largest single health research organisation in Canada and first in the country for total research funding. Research Infosource named it Canada's top research hospital from 2015 to 2022. In the 2019–2020 fiscal year its three acute care hospitals recorded over 39,000 acute inpatient stays and nearly 121,000 emergency department visits.
