Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

United Kingdom

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an NHS foundation trust in Cambridge, England. Based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, it runs Addenbrooke's Hospital and the Rosie Hospital, caring for people in the Cambridge area and offering specialist services such as transplantation, treatment of rare cancers and neurological intensive care to a much wider region. It was established in 1992 as Addenbrooke's NHS Trust and became a foundation trust under its current name in 2004.

Brand Finance ranks the trust No. 9 in its Global Top 250 Hospitals 2026, a ranking that measures brand strength. That places it among the ten strongest hospital brands in the list of 250.

The trust is a member of the Shelford Group of ten leading English university teaching hospitals and a partner in Cambridge University Health Partners, one of six designated academic health science centres. In 2017 the National Institute for Health and Care Research awarded £114 million to the Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre, its research partnership with the University of Cambridge, and about 1,000 studies run at any one time. In 2014 it became the first hospital in the UK to install an Epic electronic health record system. After being placed in special measures in 2015, it left them in January 2017, and the Care Quality Commission has since rated it "good".
