The University Hospital of Zurich (Universitätsspital Zürich, USZ) is one of the five university hospitals of Switzerland and is located in Zurich. The hospital it grew from is recorded as early as 1204, in a document in which Berthold IV dedicates the institution to his son. It became a cantonal hospital in 1803 and a university teaching institution after the University of Zurich was founded in 1833.

Newsweek and Statista rank the Universitätsspital Zürich No. 9 in World's Best Hospitals 2026. Their list singles out the top 250 hospitals worldwide.

As of December 2025 the hospital employed about 10,800 people, including 1,200 doctors and 4,000 care professionals. It treats 882,000 outpatient visitors and more than 42,000 inpatients a year. Well-known physicians and scientists who worked there include Ferdinand Sauerbruch, Andreas Grüntzig and Rolf M. Zinkernagel, who received a Nobel Prize for research done at the hospital.
