Vivianne Miedema

Vivianne Miedema is a Dutch striker and attacking midfielder, born on 15 July 1996 and raised in Hoogeveen. As of October 2026 she plays for Manchester City in the Women's Super League and for the Netherlands national team, after earlier spells with SC Heerenveen, Bayern Munich and Arsenal.
France Football and L'Équipe list Miedema as one of the 30 nominees for the 2026 Ballon d'Or Féminin. It is her fourth shortlisting, after 2019, 2021 and 2022; in 2019 she finished fifth.
Miedema is the all-time leading scorer of the WSL and the Netherlands' top international scorer across both the women's and men's teams, the first Dutch player to reach 100 international goals. Her 10 goals at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics are the most by any player at a single women's Olympic tournament. She signed her first professional contract at 14, became the youngest player in the Dutch Eredivisie at 15, and scored 41 goals in 26 games for Heerenveen in 2013–14.
Her trophies include Euro 2017 with the Netherlands, two Frauen-Bundesliga titles with Bayern, the 2018–19 WSL title with Arsenal and the 2025–26 WSL title with Manchester City. She also led the Netherlands to second place at the 2019 World Cup, won the BBC Women's Footballer of the Year award in 2021 and was named PFA Women's Players' Player of the Year in 2019.
