Caroline Weir is a Scottish attacking midfielder and forward, born on 20 June 1995 and raised in Dunfermline. As of October 2026 she plays for OL Lyonnes, which she joined in 2026, and she captains the Scotland national team.

France Football and L'Équipe list Weir as one of the 30 nominees for the 2026 Ballon d'Or Féminin. The nomination follows four seasons at Real Madrid, which she left in 2026 as the club's all-time leading goalscorer.

Weir started out in Hibernian's youth system and moved to Arsenal at 18. She then spent nine years in English football with Arsenal, Bristol Academy, Liverpool and Manchester City, winning two FA Women's Cups and two WSL Cups at City. Two of her goals against Manchester United were nominated for the FIFA Puskás Award. In 2022 she joined Real Madrid as the first Scottish player in Spain's top women's division.

Weir made her senior Scotland debut in 2013 and played at Euro 2017 and the 2019 World Cup. She also played for Great Britain at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Speaking to The Guardian about the move to Lyon, she said she "would love to be competing for the Champions League".
