Lorena

Lorena da Silva Leite, known simply as Lorena, is a Brazilian goalkeeper born on 6 May 1997 in Ituverava, São Paulo. She plays for the Kansas City Current in the National Women's Soccer League and for the Brazil national team.
France Football and L'Équipe published the 30-player shortlist for the Ballon d'Or Féminin 2026 in September 2026, and she is one of the nominees. In 2025 she was named NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year, the first Kansas City Current player to win the award, and picked for the league's Best XI First Team.
Lorena became a regular starter at Sport Recife in 2017 and joined Grêmio in 2019, taking over as first choice in 2021 and winning the Gaúcho championship in 2022 and 2024. She signed for Kansas City in December 2024 and, in her first NWSL season, set a league record of 690 consecutive minutes without conceding and a record 14 clean sheets in 24 league games. Her form helped the Current win the 2025 NWSL Shield with the best regular-season record. For Brazil she played every minute of the 2024 Olympics, keeping three clean sheets on the way to the silver medal, and won the Copa América in 2022 and 2025.
