Finland

Helsinki Airport (IATA: HEL), also called Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, is the main international airport of Finland's capital and the Uusimaa region. It lies in the neighbouring city of Vantaa, about 17 km north of central Helsinki, and is run by the state-owned company Finavia. It is the main hub of Finnair.
Condé Nast Traveller (UK) readers ranked Helsinki No. 4 in the Readers' Choice Awards 2025 list of the best airports in the world, with a score of 91.17. The passage from the magazine is a ranking table and adds no further comment.
Helsinki Airport is by far the busiest in Finland, with about 20 times the traffic of the next airport, Rovaniemi, and roughly 90 per cent of the country's international air traffic passes through it. In 2025 it handled nearly 17 million passengers, 89 per cent of them international. It has three runways, around 350 departures a day and, as of October 2025, more than 100 direct routes.
