Arami
La Paz, Bolivia
Arami is a restaurant in the Distrito Sur area of La Paz, Bolivia, founded in 2024. Its founders are chef Marsia Taha Mohamed and sommelier Andrea Moscoso Weise, who worked together for many years at nearby Gustu before this first project of their own.
Food & Wine ranks Arami No. 4 in its Global Tastemakers 2026 list of the best global restaurants. The magazine highlights its focus on the biodiversity of the Bolivian Amazon, on native ingredients and on pre-Hispanic techniques.
In Guaraní, one of Bolivia's official languages, arami means roughly "a little piece of heaven", Food & Wine reports. The tasting menu can include tucupi, a yellow sauce of fermented manioc, Amazon river species such as caiman and piranha, and sachatomate, a high-altitude fruit related to the tomato. Moscoso Weise, a sociologist by training, pours only Bolivian wines, including local grapes such as Vischoqueña, and the pair aim to support the Indigenous communities who supply their ingredients.
