The Singular Patagonia

PUERTO BORIES, CHILE

The Singular Patagonia is a hotel in Puerto Bories, five minutes from Puerto Natales in Chilean Patagonia, on the Señoret Channel at the end of the Última Esperanza Sound. It was built in the former Puerto Bories cold storage plant, which was declared a National Monument in 1996.

Travel + Leisure readers rank it No. 7 among their 100 favourite hotels in the world in the World's Best Awards 2026, with a score of 99.61. The same awards name it the No. 1 resort in South America.

In the transition areas of this hotel-museum the old machinery of the plant is still on view, and guided tours tell the story of the plant, which dates from 1915 and was once the most important cold storage plant in Chilean and Argentine Patagonia. The restaurant and bar, large enough to seat more than 100 people, cook with local Patagonian ingredients. From the hotel, excursions head out to remote places including Torres del Paine National Park.
