One&Only Portonovi
Herceg Novi, Montenegro
One&Only Portonovi is a resort on Boka Bay, the Bay of Kotor, near Herceg Novi in Montenegro. Opened in 2021, it was the first European address of the One&Only brand, set amid pine forests, medieval towns and the sheltered waters of the bay.
La Liste places it among the ten hotels that share the top spot in its 2026 world ranking, all scoring 99.5 out of 100. Time Out, reporting on the list, says it made the cut for being "the exact opposite of flashy", valuing stillness and privacy.
The suites and villas were designed by Belgian architect Jean-Michel Gathy, with floor-to-ceiling windows on the bay and a rustic touch inspired by local villages. Forbes Travel Guide highlights the Chenot Espace, a 43,000-square-foot spa built around multi-day wellness programmes. Guests have a private white-sand beach, and the resort can arrange a superyacht for an afternoon on the Adriatic.
